Cancelling your Australian bank account

Cancelling your Australian bank account

We recommend that you keep your bank account active only if you have any refunds or payments to receive. Otherwise, you can close your account before leaving Australia directly at a Commonwealth branch.

The cancellation of the bank account after leaving Australia can only be done by the account holder via telephone or correspondence by the student.
